Shamrock Hotel Hong Kong

This is my nth time to visit Hong Kong but this trip is special to me because this is our first time to be on our own without the company of my Aunt living in Hong Kong. We researched and booked our own hotel, we got lost, we used public transportation (MTR and bus) and many first time experiences.

First thing that we did after we got our luggages is that we bought Octopus Card. Octopus card can be used in all public transportation like MTR and buses. It can also be used as cash in convenience stores like 7-11 and many more. First reload of the Octopus card is HK$100 plus HK$50 refundable. HK$50 will be refunded upon return of the card. Now, they charge HK$9 for the handling fee. You can reload the Octopus card in most of the 7-11 stores.

One of the reason I chose to book at SHAMROCK HOTEL  is because of the location.  It is very near the MTR – Jordan Station C1 exit (just 1 minute walk). It is also very convenient to go to the hotel from the airport and vice versa. We rode A21 Cityflyer bus at the airport terminal and went down at Prudential Centre, Nathan Road (11th stop). It costs HK$33. When you arrive at the Prudential Centre bus stop, you will see the hotel on the other side.

From hotel to the airport, there is a bus stop near the hotel, which is only 2 minute walk from hotel. Walk toward Austin Road and you will see the A21 bus stop sign, which is also near Tsim Sha Tsui Police Station.

Police Station

Just outside Shamrock hotel, you will find many shops and restaurants which is also a plus point for me.

I have no problem with the size of our room because I know that rooms in Hong Kong is small compare to other countries. Actually, I  expect the room to be much smaller… 😀 The downside for this hotel is that they do not have WiFi in the room, only at the lobby.
